The Gambia has two distinct season; a wet season and a dry season. The dry season, starting November and ending February, is relatively cool with daytime maximums around 24°C. This is also the best time to watch wildlife and birds and when most tourists visit the country.
The wet season starts around late June and lasts until late September. The temperature rise to around 30°C. The rain makes some of the roads upcountry inaccessible. The country is more green with lush vegetation.
